How to Use

Like most stock image sites, you may search by terms that are associated with the title of a specific work, or by subject matter or theme. However, the Library of Art is designed to be used best by browsing Curated Collections.

Curated Collections

The Curated Collections are themed collections of artwork and graphics associated with liturgical events (Sundays, Holy Days, Feast Days, etc.) and organized primarily chronologically throughout the year. Some collections such as Catholic or Cultural Art are organized alphabetically by subject matter for ease of browsing.

The organization of content into Curated Collections makes it easier for anyone composing communications based on the Catholic liturgical cycles to quickly find all the content that applies to a specific event in one place. Less digging through archives and fewer web searches.

Part of the intent of the Library of Art is to make the wealth of beautiful Catholic art throughout the world more accessible to Catholic parishes and the laity.

Seasonal Styles and Intentional Design

Graphics in the Curated Collections are intentionally and thoughtfully created with font styles and color selections that evoke the feel of the season. The same colors and fonts are carried through each Sunday of the season for a consistent design style that helps your communications look more professional. New fonts and colors are introduced at the beginning of each season.

Getting Started

  1. To get started, you can access the Curated Collections page from either the home page or the top header menu of the site.
  2. You can then narrow down your search by selecting a theme from the icon tabs across the middle of the page.
  3. Select a specific Curated Collection
Note: Curated Collections for past dates may be accessed by clicking “Past Collections” under the title of the Curated Collections page.
  4. Below the header image on the specific collection page, select the tab for ALL, TRADITIONAL, or MODERN based on which design style you prefer.
  5. Further filtering based on asset type or other criteria can be done using the menu on the left-hand side of the page.
  6. Once you find an image you like, use the Style Guide to the right of the image for assistance in selecting the best Style for your intended use (for covers or graphics). Below the image, you will also find guidance on the “Intended Bulletin Use” to further aid in making the best selection.
  7. When selecting the image size you will need for your communication piece, remember that Print Size is ideal for printed publications, while Web/Email Size is optimized for digital media. Print Size may slow down or use excessive file space on digital media, and Web/Email Size may not have sufficient quality if stretched to cover a full bulletin page.
  8. Last, either Download (if subscriber) or Add to Cart the selected image.
