June comes from a long line of artists and was herself an artist from an early age, drawing and painting the days away in her own world. June carried that creative spirit into high school and college, taking high school art all four years, winning art competitions for her delicate portrait works and earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida.
Her art career began doing commissioned portrait works in oil. June continues to love portraiture as she sees it as a means of bringing forth the truth and beauty of the human figure, as created by God. Her favorite portraits to do are of the Blessed Mother and the infant Jesus. June’s religious portraits reside in churches in United States and Europe and available originals are presented by the Sacred Art Gallery.
June’s other great art love is impressionism. Captivated by the dream-like elegance of the French impressionists, June has a deep affection for painting bright colorful florals, greenery and landscapes in this style. In 2020, during the dullness of the covid shutdowns, June began blending her Catholic faith with her impressionist paintings to create magnificent works that feature Catholic spiritual elements intertwined with nature, elevating such imagery to the extraordinary.
